Heart Opening with Vibrational Medicine

Sunday, March 23, 3:45-5:15pm or
Saturday, April 19, 10:30am-1pm or
Sunday, May 25, 3:45-5:15pm

Compassion or loving-kindness is the consciousness that connects our personal existence to universal oneness. Love may be the most powerful force available to us. Experiencing compassion with the help of vibrational tuning allows us to release a great deal of burden from our relationships and ourselves. Having a space to explore compassion within meditation empowers us to conjure this universal force within ourselves throughout our everyday lives. In this workshop we will use three forms of vibrational medicine to open, clear, and connect with our heart space at the level of body, mind and soul. Our gathering will begin with tuning the body by harmonizing heart spirit acupuncture points (with or without needles) and opening our channels with the breath. The mind and emotions will be invited into a loving space with water tuned by drops of potentised heart-opening herbs. Finally, the soul will be tuned with a bath of sound waves from a Venus planetary gong. We will have time to ground with reflection and refreshments. Please participate on any level you feel comfortable with. The workshop is being repeated once each month this Spring.

Instructor:  Jessica O’Malley, LAc, LMP, AWC.  Jessica is a licensed acupuncturist with an MSA from Bastyr University. She is also a licensed massage therapist and holds a certificate in Ayurvedic medicine from Kerala Ayurveda Academy. She practices traditional constitutional medicine from Asia.

Learn the Tarot

Saturdays: March 29, April 12 and 26, May 10
11am-3:30pm

Join in a fascinating exploration of consciousness using the ancient oracle of the Tarot.  Develop your personal relationship to the cards; learn how to interpret the images and symbols that are the language of the unconscious. This is a wonderful and fun opportunity to develop, exercise and strengthen your intuition.

Level I: Learn about the history of the Tarot, how to choose a Tarot deck, and the basics of keeping a Tarot journal. Students will learn variations of a simple three-card spread to begin their practice, and be introduced to the basics of reading the cards for self.

Level II: We'll discuss the energetic flow of the cards, and the archetypes of the Major Arcana. Learn two or more traditional Tarot layouts.

Level III: We'll examine the suits and numbers of the cards of the Minor Arcana.

Level IV: We'll discuss the Court cards and do a reading for another.

While the classes can be taken separately, most students learn more from the continuity of the series. Please do not drop into the series midway if you have no knowledge of the Tarot. Students attending Level II or above are expected to have their own Tarot deck.

Instructor: Pamela Norris.  Pamela has been studying, practicing and teaching the Tarot for 30+ years. She is available for group and private sessions.

Using Flower Essences

Saturday, April 5
10am-4pm

Flower Essences are liquid potentized plant preparations which convey a distinct imprint of a specific flower. Because they contain only minute traces of the actual flower, they are not part of the standard bio-chemical medicine but belong to the field of potentized medicine similar in action to homeopathy. The remedies are designed to help a person transform emotions, attitudes, and patterns of behavior that can hinder full development potential.

Flower essences make direct contact with a person’s own essence. They help a person to assess the information to drop distortions and come back to the true self. They are effective for a variety of challenges including depression, childhood abuse trauma, anxiety, nightmares and bedwetting in children, stress and much more. They are also very effective in augmenting psychotherapy of any kind.

In this class we will explore what flower essences are, what they do, how they are made and how to choose and combine them to achieve best results for you, your clients or patients.

Instructor: Kanaychowa Layman.  Kanaychowa is a teacher and motivational guide who is able to present ideas in a way that people can understand. She has been working in the South Sound area as a healer, teacher and guide into the Self for more than 20 years. She practices Plant Spirit Medicine, Flower Essence Therapy, Soul Retrieval, Wilderness Quests and Spiritual Counseling.

Creating an Herbal First Aid Kit

Tuesday, April 29
6-7:45pm

“Be prepared” is not only a wise motto for scouting. It begins with our mental and emotional preparedness to deal with the unexpected. Then, in those moments we actually have the need for first aid supplies, we want them available for immediate use—the essence of “first aid.” In this class, learn how to select from among the hundreds of choices as to what plant and natural medicines are most useful to have on hand for first-aid emergencies—at home or in the field—and how to use them. Carol will demonstrate a larger kit for home or car, as well as small kit for backpacking or hiking. Cost of the class includes a detailed booklet on creating and using your first aid kit that can be stashed with it for ready guidance when needed.

Please note that this is not a Red Cross-style first aid class. We will be learning about how plant remedies can aid with emotional and physical trauma, bites, cuts, scrapes, burns, rashes, muscle cramps, sprains, pain, eye and bone trauma, infection, bleeding, inflammation, and more.

Instructor: Carol Trasatto, herbalist.  Carol has been practicing the plant arts for almost 35 years. She is the Herb Team lead buyer and trainer at Radiance Herbs & Massage, where she has served the community since 1992. Carol maintained a holistic wellness counseling practice for 20 years; she writes articles and presents a talk with astrologer Rosie Finn for the monthly Plants & Planets.

Stop Multi-Tasking Now

Wednesday, May 14
6-7:30pm

We get more done when we focus our attention on one activity at a time. However, our current work and community culture encourages trying to accomplish multiple things at once. Multi-tasking creates many partially completed tasks on your to-do list at any one time. Switching back and forth between these tasks wastes time, reduces your feeling of accomplishment in a given day, and the mental strain of trying to remember where you are with each item can be exhausting.

In this class you will learn how to stop attempting to multi-task and get more done while feeling less stressed. We will explore how to set goals for each area of your life, and how to prioritize activities based on those goals. You will learn practical techniques to schedule when and if an activity will be accomplished and how to deal with interruptions by quickly determining if a new activity is worth interrupting your current activity or if it can be scheduled for later. This is an interactive class that will include lecture, discussion, and hands-on workshop.

Instructor:  Liana Francisco.  Liana is a management consultant and wellness coach. Her wellness coaching practice focuses on helping clients achieve balance in their lives. Liana challenges her clients to make incremental change every day toward a more balanced, peaceful, happy and successful life.

In this safe and relaxed environment you will be guided through the process of exploring one or more relevant past lives. This guided past life journey can help you uncover “themes” to your past lives, which can often provide insights into what we are here to learn in our present lifetime and can help facilitate the release of old patterns and beliefs that no longer serve us. We will discuss the experiences and Lisa will give intuitive insights for each participant. Bring paper and pen.
