Healing Herbs as Daily Foods

Tuesday, September 25
6–8pm

Holistic herbal medicine offers a far different approach to wellness from how we think about medicine in the mainstream. With traditional plant medicine we don’t wait for symptoms to arise, but instead address our health daily through every choice of what we drink or eat. The greenworld provides a wealth of both wild and cultivated food and medicine that we can incorporate into the regular rotation of foods we feed ourselves and our families. In this class you will be inspired to add some delicious health-promoting plant medicine as foods for your table—creating nutritious broths, soups, jam, power chai, and more to benefit vitality, digestion, immunity, proper inflammatory response, and more.

Instructor: Carol Trasatto, herbalist. Carol has been walking the herbal path for more than 35 years and brings great respect and appreciation for the intrinsic power of nature to heal. Carol is the author of Conscious Caregiving: Plant Medicine, Nutrition, Mindful Practices to Give Ease, detailing extensive support for caregivers as well as their companions going through intensive illness, medical treatments, or dying. Ancestral Healing Day-Long Teaching Ritual

Sunday, November 11
10am–5pm with one-hour lunch break

By coming into conscious and direct relationship with our deeply well ancestors, we connect with a source of guidance, support and love, and contribute to the healing of inter-generational wounds and patterns. When we claim our ancestral gifts and inheritance, we deepen our belonging in the world, re-enliven our ancestral wisdom and practices, become clearer in our soul’s purpose, and become a more wholesome force for personal, cultural and earth healing.
Many of us have not grown up within a tradition of active ancestral connection and tending, and this may be the case for many generations in our lineage due to historical events and disruptions (migrations, war, displacement, colonialism, etc). Through teaching, ritual, and guided trance/visioning, participants will assess the wellness of their ancestral lineages and connect with ancestral guidance. This work is friendly and open to people of all backgrounds, including those who don’t know their parents/family, and those with tough experiences of family.

Instructor: Seyta Selter. Seyta (MA in East-West Psychology) is a certified practitioner of Dr. Daniel Foor’s Ancestral Lineage Healing method, Dr. Foor’s assistant, and adjunct faculty at Evergreen in Psychology and Consciousness Studies. An experienced teacher, ritualist and facilitator, she holds an empathic ritual space supporting learning, presence, heart, trust, and community. www.innerlands.org

Cost: $100, some sliding scale spaces available
To register, contact: seyta@innerlands.org
Class will be held off-site in downtown Olympia
